I have to replace my faulty dryer element and I noticed there was 240v going to it, even during non drying cycles. Is this right?

Answer this Question (1 Answer)

  • The heater element has power during the wash cycle as it supplies heat for the washing water temperature. The same heating element supplies heat for the tumble dryer when on a dry cycle. So there will be a voltage 240 v even during non drying cycles as the wash water will require heat unless a cold wash is selected. By hotpointwdl540pDAVE - HARROGATE - 05 February 2010
