How do I know if I need a double solenoid valve or a single one?

Washing machine uses both hot and cold water from two different inlet pipes. Problem: machine drum is filling with water when not in use. Think I need to replace inlet valve/s on machine. Does this machine use 2 separate single valves or one double valve? Both types of valve are available for this model number. Hotpoint Aquarius 800 WM14P
