I replacemed drive cogshaft for my gtech Air ram as your video. Worked perfect for 5mins then it started squealing again brushes not working.

It worked perfectly for 5 mins. I took it apart again following your video and this drive shaft has worn again. Why should this be?

  • I've noticed the same problem as Martin where the removable housing 'hole' that holds the bearing has worn to such an extent the bearing will not grip it. I'm writing to Gtech to try and get this made available as a replacement part. By Mick Newton - Leicester - 27 January 2020
  • I found that it wasn’t the actual bearing that had originally failed, but the housing where the bearing sits (to such an extent that the bearing is able to push through the housing) which in turn means the cogs don’t fit snugly, teeth start grinding and the cog fails. Replacing the bearing assembly will only give short term relief in this instance. By Martin Williams - Chester, UK - 13 March 2019

Check the motor assembly that connects to the cog spindle as that might be causing the issue.
