My oven has stopped turning on, before this it would turn on sometimes and not others. The rest of the cooker grill and hob work fine, could it be this switch that is failing ?

At the back there is a terminal connector where the power cord connects. There is often loose connections that can cause burning and damage that can cause a similar fault. If not see our video: How to diagnose problems with your oven: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/1/2145
