drum does not turn

HOOVER TUMBLE DRYER VHC68B80 When started all works fine, belt is good but drum will not turn if encouraged by hand drum turns and all works fine until a change in direction, then it just sits there all is still running..... including the heater, another push by hand....off we go again until the next direction change. Think i'm looking down the motor/bushes route. You don't seem to stock many parts for this model. Any help wouls be fantastic. Many thanks Dave

Your motor does not have brushes, the likely cause is the motor capacitor. see videos: How to Diagnose Motor Capacitor Problems on a Tumble Dryer www.espares.co.uk/advice/9/2756 and to replace see www.espares.co.uk/advice/9/3073
