If the drum cannot turn with modest effort it is likely the felt has stuck. Dismantle and remove the drum to check. Remove any stickiness before refitting the seal and drum.

  • Chris please could you tell me how I check to see whether the drum seal is sticking the drum to the front drum support? By Ed - Yeovil - 13 February 2018

An alternative belt is Stock Number: ES1673921 The usual cause of belt snapping is the felt and foam front drum seal coming away and sticking the drum to the front drum support. Check this before just replacing the belt.
