Will I need to be VERY strong to undo the bolt that holds the heating element in my Zanussi washing machine? Will I need a man, or can I do it myself:

Washing machine tripped the circuit breaker. Changed fuse in plug twice, soon as it starts the machine stops, blown fuse. Looked up possible faults, faulty heating element seems likely after all the washing I've done in hard water. Anything I can put in machine to spring clean it, stronger than Calgon or soda crystals? Thanks for the help.

Undoing the bolt is a relatively easy job but pulling an old limescale covered element from its mount will take a lot more effort. I would recommend you not try to remove this unless you have a 'fit' person who can help if you get stuck. As for keeping your machine clear of limescale we recommend eSpares Limescale & Detergent Remover.
