How do you fit this part?

We have already removed the top of the hoover and don't know how to remove the old part and fit the new one. Does it come with any instructions at all?

  • No instructions with this, but easy to fit. Just upturn the cleaner and take a screwdriver or other lever to the two underside plastic clips holding the release pedal in situ. Dont worry about damage - after all you have a new part to replace and fit. Gradually press inwards and upwards on the clips until the Release Pedal comes out from the top. Fitting the new one - clean the housing and evenly press the new unit in place until it clicks. Note: this is a poorly designed part that could need replacing frequently during the life of the cleaner and this has been referred to Hoover many times. By narbrane - Swindon - 26 February 2010
  • turn vacuum upside down and prise the two clip in sides inward and pull broken pedal out.simply locate the spring on the proiud nipple and push new pedal down until it clicks.job done .replace top cover and away you go. By pwllmelyn - n/wales - 06 June 2009
