• It seems you fit the plastic basket thing first into the bottom of the dishwasher (WIDE AT BOTTOM). Then you place the large metal plate over that. Then you put the handle in and lock the two together. You have to push down slightly to engage the two parts. Sorry but thats what Ive just done and all seems OK. By DAVID - UK - 23 July 2018
• I have separated the filter and handle using a small screwdriver to prise back the plastic 'catch' in the filter (it is near the small recess in the filter wall.) It was quite difficult but I had to do it in order to clean it properly. By Pierre - Devon - 28 August 2014

  We cannot be sure but think that it does come apart to enable it to fit either sides of the filter grill. If not it is possible that you may be able to manipulate the 'handle' side back through the mounting hole.
