gas hob will not stay alight unless u keep the knob pressed in

    It sounds like there is a problem with the thermocouple. It's worth having a look first prior to getting a replacement. There’s a small probe the knob sits on this is the fail safe device that cuts off the gas should the flame go out. When it heats up it keeps the gas on but when the flame goes out it will not let any gas through unless you have the knob held in. Check the following three things 1. Have a looks at the end of the probe and see if it's sitting in the flame 2 the probe maybe covered in grease 3 the probe may be corroded in which cases replacing it will be required
