Fan oven motor resistance?

My just under 5 year-old Hotpoint EW74's main oven died suddenly yesterday. I've done some testing and the connectors that connect to the motor have a resistance (when oven knob 'on') similar to the resistance of the ellement, 25ohm. The contact points, with connectors removed, of the motor is showing a resistance of 81ohm. Am I right in thinking that it should be close to 0, and that the motor is causing the rest of the oven not to work?

In simple terms a wire, fuse or switch must read low ohms as if you connect the meter probes together. All motors bulbs and elements should measure a resistance depending on the power used (between 25 ohms on an element and 4000 ohms on a water valve). When you measure 25 ohms on the motor you are also measuring the element at the same time (ok). Check for a cut out at the back top. check clock is set if fitted. oven indicator must light. possible switch, cut out or thermostat fault.
