can I increase the amount of water in the drum by changing the pressure switch from the current one for a 7kg machine to a 9kg machine

To reset the pressure switch pour two litres of water into the drum then turn on and immediately select drain and start. If this does not resolve the problem the switch used on a nine kilo machine may be the same as yours but we would need both models to confirm this.
