Drum crashes and bangs - what can it be?

I looked at the shock absorbers and the seals have perished and disintegrated. Can I purchase new seals separately or do i have to order the whole suspension unit? Having read the previous answer to the same question, I'm not sure how to know the load is unbalanced as I've always used the machine in the same way with the same amount of clothes without problem? Many thanks for your help Regards James
