My Lawnrake won't switch off! Will I need a capacitor as well as a new switch?

Flymo LC-340 is 5/6 years old and worked fine until now with only occasional use.

Answer this Question (1 Answer)

  • No. The capacitor is wired across the mains supply to reduce interference to other equipment, and to reduce arcing across the switch contacts. It has no other effect on the switch, which in your case must be jammed on. However, have a look at the mechanisn before considering the switch itself. By Tony - Berkshire - 01 June 2016
