We are struggling to get the old hinges out of the inner door. We cannot fold the end of the hinge back in order to get it through the gap. any advice?

If the hinge is in the 'closed' position you can use a ring spanner to pass over the hinge 'tongue' and lever to the open position before locking in position with the clip.
