I was using my dryer when it started emmitting an acrid smell and has stopped working. Do I need to replace the heater element and thermostats

    Hi Mel, it depends what type of smell is emanating from the dryer. If it's an electrical type smell, it could be any of the electrical components. I'd advise unplugging at the wall, and then using the process of elimination to diagnose the problem.
