How do you remove the old element from the Neff oven?

On the spare part there is a fixed screw on the lower of the 2 holes. Does this mean that there is a nut on the back that I need to loosen. If so do I have to remove the oven to access it?

  • On some ovens this fixed screw pin acts as an earth terminal. So, in such cases, the holding nut must be accessed by removing the back casing of the oven. To remove the back casing of the oven one must, yes, remove the oven completely from the housing first. By FixHer - Belfast, UK - 04 March 2010
  • I found this out when I drilled what I thought was the head off the bottom "screw". There is a nut that holds what I suspect is an earthing connection under the insulation on the back. It is necessary to take the oven out, but I found this was easy once I'd worked out which 4 of the (tiny) screws was actually holding it in. I had help from a burly friend to lift it out and then we only had to unscrew the umpteen screws fixing the back cover. I found the nut and washer where they had fallen in the bottom of the oven and put the new element back with no more trouble! By dbriggs - Sutton Coldfield - 26 February 2010
