does this sensor sit on the coolant pipe just below the bend?in a white plastic holder

ihave checked it and it seems like it is open circuit .is this correct?

    The sensor you refer to is the defrost sensor. The fridge sensor is usually in the panel above the evaporator not the evaporator cover.
