How to Use an Analogue Multimeter

Watch Josh show you how to calibrate and use an analogue multimeter to test for faults in electronic components within your appliances.

This is the Rolson YX1000A Analogue Multimeter, it comes with an operators manual and two leads.

To set the unit up, first turn the dial to the lowest ohm rating, then insert the black lead into the negative jack and the red lead into the positive jack. To calibrate the unit, touch the two needles together. Then, turn the dial until the reading reads zero ohms on the display.

Next, isolate your component and touch one needle to each terminal, this will give you your reading.
