The heater does not come with the sensor, if required it would need to be ordered separately and it just pulls out.

Elements can be difficult to remove due to limescale build up. Ensure the seal and clamp are free from the tub and carefully work back and forth and side to side to dislodge any build up. You may have to prise out with a screwdriver but be careful as some machines have a locating clip in the tub that could be damaged.

Answer this question

My machine leaked yesterday, and after hours of hunting where from we found it. The water was coming from around the seals of what I know now is the heating element. My question is does this sound right, I have only just been able to take it out as I had to drain the water that was still in the drum which came out under the seal?

  • there is a nut at the back of heating element, before you put element on place loose the nut, when element is placed you have to tight the nut, then rubber seal is squeezed and seals the heating element properly By gecon - london / richmond - 17 June 2010
Answer this question

how does the element stay in place? i have taken old one out but it looks as if it is simply a push fit? surely there must be some way in which to ensure it seals into place?

Hi Alba This element simply slots in to place with a click in the thermal lock. Your washing machine will be in its element!
