I'm looking at replacing all the bulbs in my house to Led, where I'm unsure is I was thinking of getting the 15w for my lounge as its a 100w that's there now but your site says these are best for kitchen/bathroom, should I go for a 70w equivalent.

  • Hi Paul. Whereas we only ever thought of wattage with 'old fashioned' bulbs, there are a couple of things to consider with LED bulbs. First, decide how bright you want the light. This is measured in lumens (lm). Then choose whether you want a 'warm white' light which people tend to have in bedrooms and cosy rooms. Or 'cool white' which is a very crisp/brighter light for home offices for example, where you need to see what you're doing at close quarters, or where you might need to read things. And just to confuse things, there is also what's known as 'daylight bulbs'. These are bright and very similar to the natural outside light on a bright summer day. I hope this helps. These 15W LED bulbs achieve a light output equivalent of 100W and should be suitable for other rooms.
