We believe the button to select the different modes is labeled Input, This compatible remote should have all the main functions of the original remote.
My Samsung UE40ES6300 TV is not responding to the new control. Do I have to do anything to get it working?

Use a digital camera to look and check if the remote 'flashes' when the buttons pressed. If the remote flashes then the fault is likely to be the television.
