Any filter that is not of a paper construction could be washed.

Answer this question

Suction has become poor and I see you sell replacement filters made by Dyson which seems to be a contradiction to Dysons own user guide instructions. Do you think it would help to replace it even though Dyson say it is not necessary? I have had a look at the existing one which appears to be stuck in to the housing lid and looks very dirty.

Any filter is designed to catch dirt or small particles. Over time if allowed to build without removing the particles it will block up and may need replacing.
