Please note: This gear is reverse threaded, so it will twist in the opposite way to normal.

I cannot unscrew existing centre of plastic gear.I presume my anti-clockwise turning is correct ! 2 Answers
- Just fitted new gears, to unscrew gear turn in clockwise direction.

The gear drives the cylinder in an anti clockwise direction so this is likely to by the direction to tighten.
