This type of button is usually just pushed on to the switch shaft.
My on/off switch was working by holding it in but now has stopped working completely, what is a switch bank? 1 Answer

On/off switch has stopped working but will intermittently work if button is pushed in and held. Can you advise as all other parts of the fan are working? 1 Answer

It suggests you need a new switch-bank not the buttons.

Check your supply as most hoods are supplied through a fused spur or socket. If this is O K check the switch for signs of a flash burn caused by a short.
This PCB has two different types of push button switch. The two 4pin ON/OFF switches, and two 6pin fan speed switches. Which is this switch?
