Before ordering a new switch unit how can I check to see if it's the switch needs replacing or the motor is at fault 1 Answer
My howdens cooker hood is HJA2543

You would need to test the components with a multimeter to determine which part has failed.
My PCB is working but the switches do not stay in anymore , so I have to keep the button pressed to get any venting. Can I just cut the old wires and connect the new PCB wires to the older wires that go back to the motor via a connector block

The wiring is supplied with the part so there is no need to cut the wires if you cut them you would need to ensure there are no breaks in the wiring.
There are pictures of the housing and the circuit board - so it's not clear if you get the housing as one unit.
