Whirlpool Dishwasher Error Code F09
Dishwashers have been branded to be a money saving tool, as it’s proven that using the dishwasher uses less water than you actually washing up by hand.
That being said, your trusty dishwasher is not immune from uninvited faults that can occur from time to time. One such fault is that the dishwasher can continuously be allowing water into the machine.
If you are experiencing this issue, the dishwasher will be displaying an F09 error code on the control panel display.
Continue reading on to hopefully help diagnose the reason as to what is causing your dishwasher the issue, and how you can help to solve the problem so that you can get your appliance back to full working order again.
The only way a dishwasher can fill continually without leaking is if the excess water is being drained away. The dishwasher will signal you with an F09 error code, as water will not leak onto the floor. Now that can be frustrating if you're waiting for clean plates and dishes. It is recommended to check:
Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.
- Check the drain hose is fitted correctly and rises above the water level in the cavity to ensure it does not allow water to drain away.
Some machines may start filling before shutting off and draining, which goes on to repeat continuously. This can be caused by grease built up on the pipe to the sump causing water to back up.
- Cure this by running an empty wash cycle using our own eSpares dishwasher descaler to remove any grease build up.
We hope to have helped you diagnose the core of your problem and perhaps aided in restoring your dishwasher to its former glory.
