How to Replace the Door Handle on a Rangemaster Cooker

A damaged door handle on your range cooker’s oven door could lead to you being unable to efficiently open and close the door.

If you have noticed that your door handle has become a little bit unstable and is coming loose from the door, you’ll want to replace it before it’s too - as your handle may become unreliable to use over time.

Below we have highlighted just how simple it is to remove and replace the oven door handle on your Rangemaster cooker.

This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.

What You Will Need:

Step 1 – Safety Advice

Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.

Step 2 – Separating the Door

With the cooker turned off turn your attention to the door which has the faulty handle. You will need to separate the outer panel of the door and to do this you will need to remove the four screws holding it together.

Two screws are located at the top and two at the bottom, using a screwdriver will help release the inner and outer panel. Be mindful of the glass inside the door separating the door as you don’t want to be replacing the door assembly.

Step 3 – Removing the Old Handle

With the door safely rested on a counter or suitable surface, you can next begin to remove the nuts which hold the handle in place. Using a nut spinner or pair pliers carefully undo the nuts and also remember to hold on to the washers as these will be required when fitting the new handle.

Step 4 – New Handle

Once the old handle has been removed, you can now fit the new handle. Taking your handle move it into position and place the washers and then thread the nuts into position. Using your pliers or nut spinner tighten the nuts to ensure the handle is secure and doesn’t wobble.

Step 5 - Reassembly

New handle fitted and is secure you can now fit the outer panel to the inner door. Once lined up you can fit the screws and tighten them using your screwdriver.

And voila your Rangemaster cooker door can continue to effortlessly open and close without the concern of a loose door handle breaking and damaging the door.
