How to Fit a Washing Machine Drum Paddle or Lifter

How to Replace a Washing Machine Drum Paddle in a Hotpoint Washing Machine

Washing machine drum paddles are a vital interior part of your washing machine. They work by pushing your laundry around inside the turning drum, allowing it to be thoroughly cleaned during washing cycles. If one of these paddles becomes damaged or faulty, however, it can cause problems. A cracked or broken paddle can catch on your laundry and tear it and, without these paddles, your washing machine won't be able to rotate and clean your clothes properly.

Fortunately, replacing a damaged paddle is actually a fairly simple process. In this article, we'll guide you through how to replace a drum paddle in your Hotpoint washing machine step-by-step so you can get your appliance back in action. This replacement may differ slightly depending on your particular model of washing machine, but the process should generally be similar.
