How to Replace the Shredding Line on a Flymo Garden Vacuum

If your Flymo GardenVac is running but isn't shredding efficiently, the issue will most likely be that the shredding line has become worn down. When this happens, the shredding line on your garden vacuum will need to be replaced to return your appliance to working order. Fortunately, this replacement is fairly quick and easy, so read on for our step-by-step guide on how to replace the shredding line on a Flymo garden vacuum.

Remember, always switch off and unplug your appliance from the wall before carrying out any work, repairs or part replacements.

Step 1: Remove the bag and frame

To access the shredding line, you'll first need to remove the bag and frame from the Garden Vac. Unclip the bag via the clip on the handle, then lift the bag away and place it aside.

Step 2: Replace the shredding line

With the bag and frame removed, you will be able to see the shredding line beneath. You can easily remove the old shredding line by simply pulling it out by hand.

With the old shredding line removed, you can go ahead and fit the new one. Just slot it into place inside the small wheel, making sure it's secured into place.

Step 3: Refit the bag and frame

Now that you've replaced the shredding line, you can finish by refitting your Garden Vac's bag and frame back onto the top of the appliance.
