How to Replace a Tumble Dryer Door Handle (Bosch, Neff, Siemans)

Maybe you got a bit impatient when waiting for your laundry and you pulled really hard on the tumble dryer door handle causing it to break. Or maybe the kids were playing a bit rough with the dryer door and that's what broke the handle. No matter what the cause was, replacing a door handle on most dryers is quite easy.

With our help we can not only supply the parts required but we’ll even show you how to fix it. This simple step by step guide will help you through removing the faulty or damaged door handle and replace it with a new one without damaging your tumble dryer door.

This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.

  What You Will Need:

  Step 1 - Safety Advice

Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.

Step 2 - Removing Old Handle

As shown in our video guide, the door handle has sheared off the front of the door and left the mounting pillars and screws inside the door.

If this is the case with your door handle, what you will need to do first is remove the mounting pillars from the inside of the door before refitting the new handle.

Carefully, partially separate the two halves of the door by loosening the screws and pulling the inner half by the door latch and you’ll see the pillars inside. Using a pair of pliers hold onto the mounting pillars whilst unscrewing the screws out. Do remember when doing, make sure that the lock mechanism doesn't fall inside the door.

Step 3 - Fitting New Handle

Now that the old handle is complete out, we can go ahead with putting the new handle in. To fit the new handle, place the handle in position, making sure the mounting pillars go all the way through the door and aligned with the screws on the inner door. Then it’s a simple case of screwing it all back together.
