How to Find Your Lawnmower Model Number

Lawnmowers, like most other household and gardening appliances, have a specific model number that is used to identify which make and model you have. Knowing where to find your model number will help you to access important information about your appliance and be able to find the correct spare parts should yours develop a fault. Read on for information on how to find the model number on a lawnmower.

Why is it important to know my lawnmower model number?

If your lawnmower develops a fault or needs a part replacing, you will need to know your model number to find the correct information and spare parts to fit your appliance. Many lawnmower spare parts look very similar but they do vary in size, shape and connections. So, although a part may look like it will fit your appliance, it might not actually be suitable.

It's also important to be able to find your model number for safety reasons too. Manufacturers sometimes recall appliances due to safety concerns. When this happens, a number of model numbers will be released so you can check if yours has been recalled and find out what you need to do next. Our video on appliance recalls explains more about safety issues, where you can find appliance recalls and what it means for those affected.
