Cause 1

Lamp Assembly

If you have checked the bulb and found it to be ok the next likely cause of the gloom in your oven can be a faulty lamp assembly, this is the bulb holder and connections.

If you’re not too sure what has caused the blackout in your oven, we will shed some light on the situation for you.

Here’s how to see if it’s faulty:

  • Check if there is power to the appliance; does the clock display on the control panel?
  • If not, then select any fan function to see if that works.

The good news is replacing the lamp assembly need not be a major chore.

Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.

eSpares Top Tip: If you're having trouble removing the bulb cover, we’ve found spraying a small amount of WD40 and using a kitchen towel to unscrew anti-clockwise can work wonders!

  • Locate the lamp and examine the filament for a break, if none are found access the lamp assembly by taking off the back from the cooker.
  • Disconnect the wires from the holder and check with a meter for resistance across the lamp holder connections, if no resistance its time to change.

If the bulb or holder needs replacing then you can check out our extensive range of spares to help restore your appliance on the eSpares website.
