Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F08, F16 or F34

Washing machines are very handy to have in a household, serving the purpose of washing your clothes, kids football kit or even the beddings. However, if it fails to open after a wash cycle completes with an F08, F16 or F34 error code, it may seem that washing your cloths could be a daunting chore.

Luckily we have identified the possible cause/ A faulty door lock could be the culprit which is refusing to allow your washing machine door to open.

Door Interlock

If the door lock isn't engaged, nothing will work. Clearly, you wouldn’t start the machine with the door open and if you accidentally did then it will be the first thing to check and ensure it is closed. If your washing machine control panel lights up but does not initiate a programme the problem is likely to be one of the following reasons:

  • The door handle and catch are not engaging correctly when closed - ensure that the door closes firmly.
  • The door lock is perhaps sticking.
  • If you own an LG washing machine, your appliance may show the error code 'dE' to indicate the door lock is faulty. Luckily, we have a repair guide showing you how to replace the door lock on an LG washer right here.

If you own any other brand of washing machine, don't worry. We also have a step-by-step guide showing you how to replace the door lock on other washers through the 'How To' button below. Please note that this process may differ slightly depending on your specific make and model of washing machine, but it should generally be similar.
